Thank you for your interest in getting your child involved with the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Greater Los Angeles!
As a parent, you are a motivator and a support system for your child's fundraising efforts. We also hope that parents will help their children by overseeing the money and coordinating the donations with the Foundation.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Q. My child has to do a community service project and chose Make-A-Wish. How can my child help?
A. What a great choice! Your child can help by planning a fundraising project for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Greater Los Angeles. Some popular fundraising projects are collecting recyclable cans and bottles for the California Refund and donating the money raised, collecting cell phones to recycle for cash to donate, or the old favorites such as bake sales and car washes. Your child can also collect disposable cameras that we use to give to the wish children so they can be sure to have a camera on hand to take photos of their wishes.
Q. I want to get my whole family involved in helping. Are there any opportunities for families?
A. Yes, families can be involved by participating in two of our most fun fundraising events! Matt Gallant's Bowling For Wishes is a chance for families to enjoy family bowling while making a difference in the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions. This event is typically held in January at the PINZ Bowling Center in Studio City. Keep checking the website for more information. Our newest opportunity is the Walk For Wishes. Our 1st annual event is presented by Mattel on June 7, 2008. This walk-a-thon will include a post-walk celebration with kid-friendly activities such as face painting, photos with Barbie and more!
