Be a Wish Granter

The Wish-Granting process starts by interviewing each child to determine the Wish, then making it come true. Volunteers work in teams to help plan and fulfill each Wish by obtaining gifts and donations. The Wish Team has the opportunity to make the Wish as unique as each child.

Meet and Greet

Welcome Wish children and their families to Los Angeles for their Wishes of a lifetime. Volunteers with flexible schedules provide an incredible service to the children by greeting them at the airport, assisting with car rentals, and escorting them to their hotels. Each Meet-and-Greet volunteer can enjoy the thrill of launching Wishes to meet a celebrity or have the Hollywood experience.

Roll Up Your Sleeves: Special Events and Outreach

Wishes are not possible without the support of the community. Volunteers help tremendously by staffing fund-raising events in communities throughout Los Angeles County.

Talk About the Magic

Volunteers from the Make-A-Wish Storytellers Program tell our story, and theirs, at a variety of functions and assemblies. Along with some information that we provide, our volunteers convey the passion of their own wish-granting stories to describe the Power of a Wish.

Keep the Lights Burning

Volunteers with weekday availability provide integral support at the Make-A-Wish office in West Los Angeles. To maximize our program service dollars, volunteers help answer the phones, stuff envelopes, enter data, file, and assist with special projects.

Capture the Image

Volunteers with an avocation for photography, videography, graphic design or journalism have the power to make a Wish last a lifetime through a picture or story.
