Genesis, age 4
I Wish to Go to Hawaii and Learn the Hula
Genesis, age 4, is outgoing and playful and loves to perform. One day while watching cartoons and recovering from chemotherapy treatment for leukemia, Genesis became captivated by a Hawaiian character doing the hula dance. Always one to jump right in, Genesis began to do the hula the best she could. Now her one heartfelt wish is to go to Hawaii and learn the dance from a kumu hula, or knowledgable hula teacher, with beautful, traditional music playing in the background. Hô (wow), what a wonderful wish!
Sara, age 17
Whether it's chic fashion, impressionist art or gourmet cuisine, Sara loves all things French and has dreamed of visiting Paris. Although she suffers from cystic fibrosis, Sara's sparkly personality conveys a joie de vivre and she is always up for an adventure. As the sponsor of her wish, Michael Stars held a wonderful bon voyage fete for Sara and also provided her with clothes for her trip.
Brianna, age 6
I Wish to Go on a Disney Cruise
Brianna loves Disney Princesses and was overjoyed when her doctor gave approval for her to travel on a Disney Cruise. Brianna's parents were thrilled, too, to know that their baby girl, who was born with a severe heart defect and has endured multiple operations, would have a whole week filled with fun on the high seas, far away from the hospital.
Abel, age 6
I Wish to Hug an Astronaut
Six-year-old Abel, who can't wait to someday discover new planets, was on cloud nine when his wish to hug an astronaut came true. During his wish week, Abel traveled to Cape Canaveral with his family to watch the launch of a space shuttle, went on a VIP tour of NASA, and of course, received a warm welcoming hug from an astronaut.
Christian, age 7
At an award ceremony at The Grove, flash bulbs and adoring fans greeted wish child Christian, as the curtain opened on his wish to be a star. As part of the outgoing 7-year-old's wish experience, Christian met with an acting coach and Hollywood film agents, in addition to performing a small role in an upcoming feature film. What a great way to celebrate his triumph over a brain tumor!
